ARCO, A COMMUNITY RESOURCE is a nonprofit United Way Agency that provides services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout northeast Louisiana since 1954.

ARCO is offering a $500.00 Hiring Bonus for anyone hired for this position during the month of April
To be eligible:
  • must meet all hiring requirements including having a valid drivers license without blocks or suspensions
  • must complete training requirements
  • must not have terminated employment with ARCO within the last six months (October 1, 2023 - April 5, 2024)
This bonus is effective for the month of April 2024, only and only until and if we fill all Direct Support Worker, Direct Support Field Service and Direct Support Team Manager positions open today and those that may become open during the month of April.

DIRECT SUPPORT TEAM MANAGER

GENERAL FUNCTION:
This professional provides direct oversight of supported living and personal care service delivery to assure that participant needs and agency and regulatory requirements are met. Develops and manages opportunities for personal growth that satisfy the needs and interests of the individuals served. Schedules direct support staff in the delivery of services. Manages and trains staff according to agency and governmental policies. Works with other management and administrative team members in the accomplishment of the goals of the program. Works with external agents such as service coordinators or regional state staff as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• College degree in recreation, special education, social work or related area.
• Valid Louisiana Driver’s license

REQUIRED _ Employment experience as direct support worker

Demonstrated ability to:
• Articulate and follow ARCO's philosophy.
• Use written and oral communication skills on the post-secondary level to interpret guidelines and complete reports.
• Read and follow requirements pertaining to regulatory and funding sources.
• Plan, prepare and conduct activities of interest to adults with Developmental Disabilities.
• Assure that staff is providing the services according to the overall plan of care as well as addressing the obvious day-to-day needs.
• Evaluate the interest, skill level, and learning needs of persons with Developmental Disabilities and engage them in participatory activities accordingly.
• Manage and teach staff.
• Identify issues of concern regarding individuals served, work issues, etc., and communicate these concerns to those that need to know.
• Coordinate with all components of the agency and community resources.
• Drive a large van.
